I’m excited to be launching a online workshop series based on best-selling leadership and personal development books.
In less than an hour, you will watch a video summary of the book featured that week (so you don’t have to read the entire book to participate), work on an action plan for applying it to your work, get feedback from your peers in a breakout group, and commit to implementing your plan after the class is over.
That’s why we are calling them ActionClasses. It’s like a book club where you don’t have to read the entire book, and instead of having a nice discussion we’ll actually help each other solve real business problems.
The sessions will be hosted every Friday at 12 noon EST.
The first book we’ll be covering is Drive by Dan Link. Most everything you know about what motivates you is just plain wrong. Dan Pink goes scientific on the brain to reveal what we really know about motivation. In this book you’ll learn what science knows about motivation, but business doesn’t. In
particular, you’ll learn:
- The 7 deadly flaws about using carrots and sticks as motivators;
- The difference between Type I and Type X people;
- How you can use autonomy, mastery, and purpose to your advantage.
I hope you’ll consider joining me and other business leaders as we create action plans to achieve our greatest goals.
